Run-thrus and Trial Etiquette

There's a great post at the "Miles and Emma" blog with some tips and suggested etiquette for "fun matches," a slightly-more-formal event than our run-thrus, but not a trial. This is a great list for people new to agility, run-thrus, and trialing, and a nice reminder of good manners for those of us who may have become too comfortable and cavalier about our weekly run-thrus (I apologize to EVERYONE for violating #10--often.)

While this is directed at participation in fun-matches, these are all good-practice for actual trials, too, because even though it may look like this:

we really want all of our agility events to run as smoothly as possible!

The Name Game: Round 4

Here's one more entry for our Name Game: Carole McCrary's Cricket.

CRICKET MCRARY

After losing our Maltese I knew our next dog was going to be a rescue. When my daughter found out I was surfing the Internet for rescues she sent me a picture of Cricket at a rescue in Conway SC. I was going to eastern NC on a canoeing trip so I went by to see Cricket. She was like a Cricket jumping excitedly. I was told she was given up because she had too much energy for her owner and that a lot of people that had looked at her said the same. Well, after my weekend canoeing was over she was still available. She needed exercise so when I saw the notice for dog agility tryouts I knew that would be good for her. I did not change her name because Cricket was perfect fit!
